The Grandview Hop is adding a new way for attendees to get there without circling for parking.

A free shuttle bus will run between Grandview Yard and the Hop on Aug. 29, new for this installment of the open-street festival that takes over Grandview Avenue four times each summer. The shuttle, sponsored by CYP Club Cares and Grandview Yard, will loop continuously from 4 to 10 p.m., picking up riders at 960 Bobcat Ave. and dropping them near 1359 Grandview Ave.

The city of Grandview Heights announced the shuttle and road-closure details in a civic alert published Aug. 6. Riders should expect a bus every 15 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic and boarding times, and look for 12-foot "SHUTTLE" flags and sandwich-board signs at each stop.

The ride is free.

Road closures start early

Grandview Avenue between First Avenue and Third Avenue will close to traffic at 1 p.m. and stay closed until after the event wraps at 9 p.m. The Hop itself opens to the public at 5 p.m., but the earlier closure allows vendor setup across the corridor, which extends north along Grandview Avenue to Fifth Avenue.

No-parking enforcement will be in effect on the closed stretch. Drivers who normally use Grandview Avenue as a through route should plan alternate paths for the afternoon and evening.

What to expect at the Hop

The Grandview Hop, now in its 20th year according to the event's Instagram account, expects more than 5,000 attendees each installment, according to its vendor application page. The festival lineup includes more than 200 pop-up vendors and food trucks, 10 live music and performance spaces, two charity beer tents donating 100 percent of proceeds, and participation from more than 50 brick-and-mortar businesses along the avenue.

The event is free, open to all ages and leashed pets, and hosted by the CYP Club, the Columbus Young Professionals organization whose nonprofit arm, CYP Club Cares, is backing the new shuttle.

One more Hop remains

The Aug. 29 date is the third of four 2026 installments. The fourth and final Hop is scheduled for a Saturday in September; the city has not announced whether the shuttle will return for that event.
