The Grandview Heights Bobcats cross country teams will open the 2026 season on Aug. 29, at the HOKA XC Showcase, the first of three key dates on a schedule the GH Athletic Department released Thursday.

Both the boys and girls squads will race this fall in the Central Buckeye League before the postseason push begins in late October.

Here are the dates to circle:

  • Aug. 29 — HOKA XC Showcase (season opener)
  • Oct. 17 — Central Buckeye League Championship
  • Oct. 24 — OHSAA Division V Tournament begins

The Bobcats enter the season with postseason pedigree. The girls program won consecutive CBL championships in 2023 and 2024, according to the Central Buckeye League, and competed at the OHSAA state meet in October 2025.

Senior Julia Albright gives the girls roster a proven front-runner. The Class of 2027 standout was recognized by the athletic department in May after clocking 19:04.80, good for the fifth-fastest time in program history.

Grandview Heights Schools Superintendent Andy Culp cheered the women's team publicly as they headed to the state meet last October:

@culpandy: "Let's go Grandview Bobcats Woman's Cross Country Team!! Bring home a state title! #GHSDreamBig"

The athletic department's Facebook page described both teams as ready for another exciting season and urged fans to come out and support the runners.

The first chance to see the Bobcats tested comes Aug. 29. The CBL Championship follows Oct. 17, with the OHSAA Tournament one week later.
