Grandview Heights girls cross country entered the OHSAA Central District meet Saturday, Oct. 24, chasing a fifth consecutive CBL championship.

A fifth straight title would also be the program's eighth district championship in school history, according to the Grandview Heights Athletic Department on X.

The district streak is separate from another milestone the Bobcats reached this fall. Grandview Heights captured its fifth consecutive Central Buckeye League conference championship, according to the athletic department's Facebook page.

The CBL named Grandview Heights its 2026 girls cross country champion and recognized head coach Chris Szabo as the league's Championship Coach.

Seven Bobcats earned All-League honors.

Julia Albright, Adalyn Calvin, Hadley Mickley, Sydney Hatta and Halle McNamara landed on the CBL First Team All-League. Kate McIntosh and Hayley Duling earned Second Team All-League recognition. That depth across the lineup is what makes a team dangerous in a championship race, where the gap between a program's fourth and fifth runners can decide the outcome.

The athletic department credited Szabo with developing athletes beyond the course, saying her impact extends far beyond running. Szabo has led the program through both the conference and district title streaks.

Cale McNamara, Albright and Calvin joined Athletic Director Logan Dunn on the Grandview Heights Athletics Podcast in an Oct. 16 episode to discuss the season and upcoming postseason competitions.

The Bobcats carried a roster full of All-League talent into the Oct. 24 district meet.
