Grandview Heights Schools seeks public input on federal grant spending

Grandview Heights residents can help shape how the district spends its federal education dollars at a public hearing Aug. 12 at 7 p.m.

The district is asking for community input on its plans for three federal grant programs: Title I, which supports students from low-income households; Title II-A, which funds teacher professional development; and Special Education IDEA Part B, which supports students with disabilities.

The hearing will be held in the Larson Middle School Media Center at 1600 West First Avenue.

Grandview Heights Schools, led by Superintendent Andy Culp, posted the hearing notice on its website Aug. 6. The notice does not include specific dollar amounts for any of the three programs.

The hearing is open to all community members.

At the federal level, Congress maintained level funding for Title I, Title II-A and IDEA Part B in the fiscal 2026 budget it approved in February, adding a $20 million increase to both Title I and IDEA, according to education policy outlet Teach the Vote. Those forward-funded allocations began flowing to districts this summer for the 2026-27 school year.

The district serves roughly 1,131 students across Stevenson Elementary, Larson Middle School and Grandview Heights High School.
