Upper Arlington residents on more than 20 street segments need to move their cars off the road before midnight Saturday, when temporary no-parking restrictions take effect for a half marathon cutting through their neighborhoods.
The city posted a civic alert Aug. 17 warning that the OhioHealth Grandview Yard Half & Quarter Marathon will send runners through UA on Aug. 23, starting at 7 a.m. The parking restrictions lift at 11 a.m.
Both sides of the street: no parking at all
- Stanford Road from Northwest Boulevard to Andover Road
- Waltham Road from Andover Road to Arlington Avenue
- Cambridge Boulevard from Waltham Road to Oxford Road
- Oxford Road from Cambridge Boulevard to Tewksbury Road
- Tewksbury Road from Oxford Road to Arlington Avenue
- Tewksbury Road from Coventry Road to Andover Road
- Andover Road from Tewksbury Road to Chatfield Road
- Andover Road from West Lane Avenue to Wilshire Drive
- Wilshire Drive from Andover Road to Brandon Road
- Ridgeview Road from Brandon Road to Vassar Place
- Vassar Place from Ridgeview Road to Northam Road
- Northam Road from Vassar Place to North Star Road
- North Star Road from Ridgeview Road to Trentwood Road
One side restricted

- Waltham Road, south side, from Arlington Avenue to Cambridge Boulevard
- Tewksbury Road, north side, from Arlington Avenue to Coventry Road
- Tewksbury Road, east side, from Coventry Road to Andover Road
- Andover Road, west side, from Chatfield Road to West Lane Avenue
- Brandon Road, west side, from Wilshire Drive to Ridgeview Road
- North Star Road, west side, from Northam Road to Ridgeview Road
Race start times and course
The half marathon (13.1 miles) and quarter marathon (6.55 miles) start at 7 a.m. at Ray E. DeGraw Park in Grandview Yard, 850 First Ave., Grandview Heights. The Purple Heart 5K follows at 7:20 a.m. Course loops pass through Grandview Heights, Marble Cliff, Upper Arlington and the Ohio State University area. Proceeds from the 5K benefit the Upper Arlington Community Foundation.
Grandview Heights issued its own traffic advisory with full road closures in that city from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
The city's alert does not specify whether any UA streets will be fully closed to through traffic during the race; only parking restrictions are confirmed for Upper Arlington.
