Upper Arlington's fall postseason is in full swing, with the Golden Bears' field hockey team in the thick of the OHSAA regional tournament and the football squad preparing for its Division I playoff opener.

Field hockey: Golden Bears face loaded Central Region bracket

UA–New Albany is listed for Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 5:30 p.m. A result was not available at publication time.

Senior midfielder Caroline Overmyer leads the Golden Bears with 11 goals, 14 assists and 36 points, according to the Columbus Dispatch. The Dispatch described Overmyer as a linchpin of UA's 2024 and 2025 state tournament teams.

UA posted regular-season wins over Columbus Academy (3-1 on Sept. 16) and Watterson (1-0 on Sept. 28) but lost to Thomas Worthington (1-0 on Sept. 9) and New Albany (1-0 on Oct. 7), according to CbusSports.com.

Thomas Worthington, New Albany and UA are the top three seeds in the Central Region and all landed in the same bracket, CbusSports.com reported. If the seeding holds, the regional semifinal winner would not face top-seeded Thomas until the regional final. The state semifinal is set for Thursday, Nov. 5, at Thomas' Hamilton Field, with the state championship on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the same venue.

Thomas Worthington coach Simonetti Frost, in her 28th year leading the four-time defending state champion Cardinals, told CbusSports.com the postseason field is wide open.

"It's anybody's ballgame," Simonetti Frost said. "I think we have a lot of really talented teams."

Columbus-area programs hold seven of the top 10 spots in the state rankings, CbusSports.com reported.
