Upper Arlington High School will induct nine new entries into its Athletic Hall of Fame in January, bringing the program's total to 102 honorees since its founding in 2017.

The 2027 class, announced by the district, covers graduation classes from 1928 to 2014. It includes eight individuals and one historic UA family.

The class includes girls lacrosse coach Wendy Pinta, who compiled a 404-106-14 record and led Upper Arlington to nine state championships over 26 seasons as varsity head coach. She was named the 2017 National Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and was inducted into the Ohio Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2009. Pinta also taught science at UAHS and coached youth and middle school programs for more than 30 years.

Brett Harper, Class of 1999, earned First Team All-Ohio Capital Conference (OCC) honors in football on teams that reached back-to-back state semifinals in 1997 and 1998. In lacrosse, he played in every game of UA's 62-game winning streak and earned High School All-American and Ohio Player of the Year honors as a senior. Harper went on to play at the University of Maryland, helping the Terrapins reach the 2003 NCAA Final Four. He still lives in Upper Arlington and will rejoin the Golden Bears' defensive coaching staff for the 2027 season.

Elizabeth Alexander Brinson, Class of 1984, won the 1983 individual state tennis championship, the first female individual tennis state title in school history. She posted a 92-6 career record, including a perfect 33-0 senior season.

Joel Walker, Class of 1998, left UAHS as the school's all-time leader in career wrestling victories with a 142-21 record. He captured the 1997 Division I state championship at 152 pounds, one of only three OHSAA state champions in school wrestling history.

Kevin Vannatta, Class of 2014, scored 1,246 career points in basketball and captained the Golden Bears to a state runner-up finish. He was named the 2014 "JJ Huddle" State Player of the Year.

Kristen Wallace, Class of 2005, was a state champion in girls lacrosse, a four-time state champion in water polo and a 19-time All-American in swimming and diving. She went on to earn five All-American honors at the University of Virginia.

Pat Boggs, Class of 1975, earned High School All-American and First Team All-State honors in football as a senior on the 1974 state runner-up team. He played at the University of Notre Dame and won the 1977 national championship with the Fighting Irish.

Rob Wallace, Class of 1972, went undefeated in all dual tennis matches in singles and doubles across his three-year varsity career. He won back-to-back state doubles championships in 1971 and 1972.

The Sayers family rounds out the class.

Brothers Frank (Class of 1928), Homer (Class of 1933) and Martin (Class of 1939) competed across football, basketball, wrestling, baseball, golf, swimming and track during Upper Arlington's earliest decades. Martin Sayers went on to co-found Ohio State's Department of Pediatric Neurological Surgery and co-invented the cerebral shunt for hydrocephalus.

The induction ceremony takes place Saturday, Jan. 9, 2027, at 10 a.m. Initial recognition will be held on the UAHS Competition Gymnasium court between the JV and varsity girls basketball games against Olentangy Orange on Friday, Jan. 8, 2027. The JV game starts at 6 p.m.
