Grandview Heights opens pumpkin composting at Wallace Gardens

By Upper Arlington-Grandview Record staff · October 28, 2026 · 1 min read

Grandview Heights residents can drop off pumpkins and gourds for composting at Wallace Gardens starting Monday, Nov. 2.

A collection trailer at Wallace Gardens will accept pumpkins and gourds through Monday, Nov. 30, according to a post on X attributed to the city. The program is part of the city's effort to divert waste from landfills.

Painted pumpkins are not accepted.

The month-long collection window covers the weeks after Halloween, giving residents a place to bring jack-o'-lanterns and decorative gourds instead of sending them to the trash.
