Six Grandview Heights programs hit the field starting Aug. 10, launching the Bobcats' 2026-27 fall athletics season with a schedule spanning tennis, volleyball, golf, soccer and football between Monday and Saturday.
The Grandview Heights Athletic Department posted the week's schedule on Sunday, listing events across four competition days. Several are scrimmages, but the week also features regular-season matches and a rivalry showdown at Upper Arlington.
Thursday's Colin's Cup headlines the week
The marquee event comes Thursday, Aug. 13, when boys varsity soccer travels to Upper Arlington for the Colin's Cup at 7:15 p.m. The JV squad kicks off the same evening at 5:30 p.m. Meanwhile, boys varsity football opens with a scrimmage at West Jefferson at 6 p.m., girls varsity tennis hosts Franklin Heights at Urlin Tennis Courts at 4:30 p.m., and boys varsity and JV golf travel to West Jefferson at National Links Golf Club.
Monday through Tuesday: tennis, volleyball and golf
Girls varsity tennis hosts Teays Valley at McKinley Field's Urlin Tennis Courts at 4:30 p.m. Monday, while JV tennis travels to Teays Valley at the same time. That evening, girls JV and varsity volleyball host Liberty Christian Academy in scrimmages at the GHHS Gymnasium at 5 and 6 p.m.
Tuesday brings the boys varsity golf team to Oakhaven Golf Club for CBL Tournament No. 2 at 11 a.m. Girls varsity tennis travels to Bishop Ready, with the match played at Franklin Heights High School, at 4:30 p.m. Boys middle school soccer hosts Grove City Christian in a scrimmage at Bobcat Stadium at 5:30 p.m., and girls 7th and 8th grade volleyball host Grove City Christian at Larson Middle School Gym.
Saturday wraps the week on the road
Girls volleyball and girls soccer both travel Saturday, Aug. 15, with JV and varsity squads scrimmaging at Patriot Preparatory Academy and Benjamin Logan, respectively.
Renovation backdrop
All of it unfolds during the early stages of the district's $25 million K-12 Athletic Complex renovation, which broke ground in May and will eventually bring new turf fields, expanded locker rooms, a press box, bleachers and a Victory Plaza to Bobcat Stadium. The stadium field will carry the name Mirolo Field after a $350,000 gift from the Mirolo Charitable Foundation.
Home events proceed as scheduled this fall. The stadium parking lot remains available but is set to go offline in January 2027, as we reported Aug. 4 ahead of the fall sports parent meeting.
Athletic director Logan Dunn, who took over in summer 2025, has framed the renovation as part of a broader push to elevate the Bobcat experience. "My long-term goal is to set the standard of what an athletic department looks like, not just a division six athletic department," Dunn told CityScene Magazine in March.
