Grandview Heights student-athletes and their families will gather August 5, for the annual Fall Sports Player and Parent Meeting, marking the start of Bobcat athletics in 2026-27.
The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a Corporate Sponsor Fair, where families can meet local businesses that back the athletic program. The main meeting follows at 6 p.m. Athletic Director Logan Dunn takes the auditorium stage for the session, covering department expectations, communication guidelines, eligibility requirements, and other fall-season logistics, according to the Grandview Heights Athletic Department. Individual sport meetings with coaches follow at 6:30 p.m., giving each team time to review its own expectations and distribute season-specific information.
The department is calling the session an OHSAA-required meeting and strongly encouraging every middle school and high school fall athlete to attend with at least one parent or guardian.
Fall action already underway
The meeting lands in the middle of an active preseason week. According to the district's weekly schedule, girls soccer hosted Olentangy High School for a scrimmage at Bobcat Stadium on Tuesday, August 4. Boys and girls soccer face London High School on Thursday, August 6. Varsity football scrimmages at Hamilton Township on Friday, August 7, and middle school football travels to Berne Union on Saturday, August 8.
Stadium changes on the horizon
Families attending home events this fall should note that the ongoing $25 million K-12 Athletic Complex renovation and Stevenson Elementary construction will reshape the game day experience. The stadium parking lot goes offline entirely in January 2027. The district's summer newsletter highlighted the athletic complex groundbreaking and the introduction of Mirolo Field as key developments for the coming school year.
