Endeavor Brewing & Spirits will shut its original taproom at 909 W. 5th Ave. near Grandview Heights on Thursday, Oct. 29.
The owners announced the decision in an Instagram post on Thursday, Oct. 22. They did not give a public reason for the closure.
Barrel & Bloom, a coffeehouse and bar Endeavor opened in Linworth in August 2025, will remain open and continue serving the company's beers and spirits, according to the Dispatch.
The Grandview-area taproom will stop serving daily customers Oct. 29 but will continue hosting private events through the holiday season. The owners said they plan to hold a farewell gathering for "the long list of patrons, partners and friends we have met along the way," though no details have been announced.
Endeavor was founded in 2017 by three friends whose beers drew on memories of their world travels, according to the Dispatch. The company expanded into distilling three years later. It now produces eight styles of vodka, gin, rum and whiskey and keeps eight beers on tap. The company describes itself as Columbus's first "brewstillery," both brewing and distilling on-site.
Breakfast With Nick reported the taproom was closing after nearly a decade, which would place its start around 2016. The Dispatch reported the company was founded in 2017.
The string of recent closures includes Nocterra Brewing, which suspended operations in Columbus and Powell on Aug. 31. Nocterra's owners said they were "out of runway to keep fighting" through financial difficulties, the Dispatch reported. Nocterra has since filed to renew its state permits in Powell but not at its Columbus location. Outerbelt Brewing's owners have said they are seeking a buyer for their property between Canal Winchester and Lancaster.
No opening timeline or tenant has been announced for the 909 W. 5th Ave. space.
