The Friends of the Upper Arlington Public Library's quarterly Atrium Sale is open at the Tremont Road Branch, 2800 Tremont Road, with regular browsing and individual-item purchases available through August 8.
The sale features fiction and nonfiction for all ages, plus DVDs, CDs, vinyl records, magazines, audiobooks, art, frames, and puzzles, according to the Friends of the UAPL. Adult hardbacks start at $3, paperbacks at $1, children's hardbacks at $1, and children's paperbacks at 50 cents. DVDs, Blu-ray discs, and CDs are $1 per case.
Hours follow the library's regular schedule: Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. The sale closes 15 minutes before the library each day. New items donated during the week are being added to shelves under "New Arrivals" signs.
Sunday, August 9, is bag-sale-only. No individual-item purchases. Friends members can fill a shopping bag provided by Littleton's Market for $5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the public bag sale runs 1 to 3 p.m. at $10 per bag. The Friends ask shoppers to bring exact change in cash and to use baskets or boxes to keep bags from tearing. Items in glass display cases are excluded.
The volunteer-run organization, founded in 1977, raised $101,565 in 2025, according to the UAPL's annual report. That year, 87 adult volunteers logged 2,698 hours and 421 student volunteers contributed another 1,416 hours. Proceeds fund the library's Summer and Winter Reading Programs, author visits, equipment purchases, and special events.
Cash, check, and self-service debit or credit card payments (with a 2.9% fee) are accepted at the Tremont Road location. Shoppers are asked to bring their own bags for regular purchases.
Residents who want to join the Friends can pick up a membership application at the Friends desk or apply online. Membership unlocks early access to presales and the discounted bag sale price. Volunteer roles include cashiering, restocking shelves, sorting donations, and helping at quarterly sales.
