The Grandview Heights Bobcats lost 40-14 at Worthington Christian on Friday, Oct. 2, falling to 2-5 on the season.

The conference road loss pushed the Bobcats' losing streak to five games. Grandview Heights dropped to 0-2 in conference play, sitting seventh in the standings. Worthington Christian improved to 5-2 with the win, according to MaxPreps.

The season started with promise. The Bobcats opened 2-0, beating Centennial 26-18 on Aug. 21 and rolling past Whetstone 53-0 on Aug. 28. The offense has not kept pace since.

Grandview Heights has been outscored 203-62 across the five-game skid, with losses to Northridge (49-14), Bexley (14-3 on a Thursday night, Sept. 10), Fort Frye (54-24), Linden-McKinley (46-7) and now Worthington Christian. Through seven games, the Bobcats have scored 141 points and allowed 221, per the MaxPreps schedule page.

The Grandview Heights Athletic Department promoted a Buffalo Wild Wings watch party for the Oct. 2 game, with Murphy Horning and Jon Ionno calling the action on the Grandview Heights Schools YouTube channel for fans who could not make the trip to Worthington.

The Bobcats travel to Grove City Christian on Friday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. for a non-conference game. Grove City Christian enters at 3-4 after a 19-16 conference loss to Berne Union. Grandview Heights then visits Valley on Oct. 16 before closing the regular-season home schedule against Mifflin on Oct. 23.
