Grandview Heights girls soccer shut out Columbus School for Girls 4-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 22, in a Central Buckeye League matchup that doubled as Senior Night at Bobcat Stadium.
The Bobcats improved to 8-2 overall and 5-1 in CBL play, according to MaxPreps. Both teams entered the game at 7-2.
The Grandview Heights Athletic Department said on X that the evening celebrated the seniors and their dedication to the program. Gates opened at 6:30 p.m. with a pre-game ceremony before the 7 p.m. kickoff.
The shutout was the Bobcats' sixth this season. Through 10 games, Grandview Heights has outscored opponents 46-6 and posted identical 4-1 records at home and on the road.
The defense has allowed more than one goal only twice, both in 2-0 losses. Mariemont beat the Bobcats on Aug. 22, and Bexley handed them their second defeat on Sept. 16.
Between those losses, Grandview Heights won five straight. The run included wins over Logan (2-1), Mansfield Christian (4-1), Buckeye Valley (6-0), Whitehall-Yearling (15-0) and St. Francis DeSales (1-0).
The Bobcats opened the season with a 4-0 CBL win over Bishop Ready on Aug. 19, then routed Franklin Heights 10-0 in their second game before the Mariemont loss.
The offense has spread the scoring around. In a 6-0 Youth Night win over Buckeye Valley on Sept. 2, Charlie Ferris scored twice while Angelina Aquilo, Molly Herlihy, Mary Herlihy and Kara Reardon each added a goal, according to the Grandview Heights athletics website.
Goalkeeper Kenzie Gladman recorded three saves in that contest.
MaxPreps lists Grandview Heights third in the Central Buckeye League standings at 5-1.
The Bobcats travel to Fairfield Union on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 5:15 p.m. A CBL road game at Columbus Academy follows on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m.
