Grandview Heights residents can apply to serve on City Council, with open seats to be filled by appointment through December 2027.
The city posted a notice on its website Thursday, Oct. 1, calling for applications to fill council vacancies. The appointed members will serve until the seats go before voters in November 2027 for the remaining two years of the term. The notice does not specify how many seats are open or why they became vacant.
Applicants must be Grandview Heights residents and qualified electors. The city asks each candidate to submit a letter of interest describing relevant experience and motivation, a current résumé and a completed application form. The application also asks whether candidates can commit to attending all council meetings, workshops, training events and budget committee meetings. Council meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.
All materials must reach the City Clerk by Wednesday, Oct. 14. Applicants can email them to [email protected] or deliver them to City Hall at 1525 Goodale Blvd.
Council will review submissions and conduct interviews tentatively scheduled for Monday, Oct. 26. The next regular council meeting is Monday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. at City Hall, two days before the application deadline. Residents with questions can call the City Clerk's office at (614) 488-3159.
