The Grandview Heights Board of Education will hold its August regular meeting Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. in the Larson Middle School Media Center, 1600 West First Ave.
The session marks the board's first regular meeting since a string of summer special sessions focused on personnel, contract negotiations and superintendent evaluation. Board President Eric Bode, Vice President Emily Gephart and members Molly Wassmuth, Kevin Guse and Katie Matney will take up finance reports and appendix items outlined in the August board meeting packet, which is posted on the district website.
Embedded in the meeting is a public hearing on how the district plans to spend federal Title I, Title II-A and IDEA Part B grant funds for the 2026-27 school year. As we reported Aug. 6, the hearing gives families a chance to weigh in on money that supports students from low-income households, teacher professional development and special education services. Congress maintained level funding for all three programs in the fiscal 2026 budget approved in February, adding a $20 million increase to both Title I and IDEA. The district has not released specific dollar amounts for its local allocations.
Finance reports on the agenda come as the district manages a major construction project: a new Stevenson Elementary building is underway, with students temporarily relocated to modular classrooms on the Larson Middle School grounds for the 2026-27 school year. The district's Summer 2026 newsletter highlighted the Stevenson groundbreaking, a new Mirolo Field and broader financial updates. Grandview Heights City Schools serves roughly 1,131 students across Stevenson Elementary, Larson Middle School and Grandview Heights High School.
