Grandview Heights Schools earned an overall five-star rating on Ohio's 2025-26 State Report Card and posted a 105.9 Performance Index, the highest in Franklin County, according to the district's announcement.
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce released the report cards Tuesday, Sept. 15. Only 61 of Ohio's 607 K-12 public districts earned the top five-star mark, according to WYSO.
Grandview Heights, a district of about 1,131 students across Stevenson Elementary, Larson Middle School and Grandview Heights High School, earned five stars in four components: Achievement, Progress, Gap Closing and Early Literacy. The Early Literacy figure stood out. Some 93.3% of third-graders read at a proficient level, well above the statewide English language arts proficiency rate of 62.2%.
The four-year graduation rate: 100%.
In College, Career, Workforce and Military Readiness (CCWMR), the district jumped from three stars last year to four. Grandview Heights said the gain reflects expanded internships, apprenticeships, MicroSchool programs and elementary career awareness efforts.
The district said in its announcement that it would use the results to identify what is working and where it can improve to support every student.
Steve Dackin, director of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, highlighted literacy gains statewide. "Every subgroup that we have made progress over this last year in literacy. Every subgroup," Dackin said Wednesday, Sept. 16. "I don't think we've seen that for a long time as a state."
Statewide math proficiency also hit a five-year high at 56.4%.
Grandview Heights was one of several Franklin County districts earning five stars. Upper Arlington City Schools earned the top rating for a fifth consecutive year, with its Performance Index increasing for the fifth straight year, according to the district's announcement. Bexley City Schools, Olentangy Local Schools and New Albany-Plain Local Schools also received five stars, while Dublin and Hilliard each earned 4.5 stars, according to 10TV.
