A UFO-themed burger and sandwich restaurant called Roswell's will open at 668 Grandview Ave. inside Woodland's Backyard, replacing Blackbird Burrito Company in the same space.

The team behind Blackbird Kitchen, which operates inside Woodland's Tavern at 1200 W. 3rd Ave., is launching the new concept. 614Now first reported the opening on Thursday, Oct. 1.

Blackbird Burrito Company announced its closure in a statement, thanking Columbus diners for supporting the business and saying the kitchen would be completely overhauled before reopening under the new name.

Roswell's will hold a grand opening event Sunday, Oct. 11, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Regular service begins Tuesday, Oct. 13.

The menu centers on burgers, chicken tenders, salads and wraps. It features 8-oz. patties ground fresh daily in-house from a chuck-and-brisket blend, according to 614Now. Chicken tenders come with eight sauce options and signature styles, including Szechuan dry rub tenders with fermented hot honey.

Sides include mushroom fries with togarashi salt and french onion arancini.

As of Oct. 1, the Woodland's Backyard website still listed Blackbird Burrito Co. as its food vendor. No menu pricing, regular hours or owner names have been announced publicly. Residents can follow updates on Instagram at @roswells_614.
