Two teenage suspects are in custody after a string of overnight break-ins in Upper Arlington's Tewksbury Road neighborhood, and detectives are searching for a third.

The Upper Arlington Police Division announced Monday, Aug. 3, that it is investigating several residential burglaries that occurred overnight in the area. Two teens have been arrested and charged, though the department has not released their names, ages, or specific charges.

Investigators believe the suspects randomly targeted homes, taking advantage of unlocked doors or windows, according to 10TV. The number of homes hit has not been confirmed; UAPD described it only as "several."

A third suspect remains at large.

UAPD has not released a description of that individual, and no timeline for an update has been provided. The investigation is active, with detectives pursuing additional leads.

Increased police presence

Officers are maintaining a heightened patrol presence in the Tewksbury Road area while the case develops, the City of Upper Arlington said in a follow-up post on X. The city amplified the police division's alert and asked residents with home surveillance cameras or doorbell video to review footage from the overnight hours and share anything useful with investigators.

What residents should do

UAPD is urging neighbors across the city to lock homes and vehicles and remove valuables from cars. The advisory is especially pointed for the Tewksbury Road area where the break-ins clustered overnight.
