Upper Arlington families can spend a free afternoon with hayrides, pumpkin decorating and a corn maze when Fall Fest returns to Fancyburg Park on Sunday, Oct. 4.
The annual event, hosted by Upper Arlington Parks & Recreation, runs 1–5 p.m. at the park, 3375 Kioka Ave. Activities include cider sampling, caramel apple dipping, inflatables, a shelled corn pit, seasonal crafts and food trucks, according to the city's event page.
Admission is free.
Kids and adults can also make Upper Arlington and Ohio State necklaces and bracelets at hands-on craft stations, according to the city's calendar listing.
Costume Swap returns
The Costume Swap is back at Fall Fest this year. Residents can donate gently used Halloween costumes at the Bob Crane Community Center, 3200 Tremont Road, starting Tuesday, Sept. 22, through Saturday, Oct. 3. Donations will also be accepted at the festival on Oct. 4.
The swap accepts kids' and adult costumes, plus accessories like hats, masks and props. Items should be clean and in good condition.
Each person may take one costume on a first-come, first-served basis. Donating a costume is encouraged but not required to participate. The swap is free, and the city described it as a way to "give gently used Halloween costumes a second life."
The Costume Swap is open to anyone, whether they donated beforehand or not. Residents who want to browse the selection early should plan to arrive when the festival opens at 1 p.m., since costumes go quickly.
