Franklin County Public Health will spray for mosquitoes in Upper Arlington's Central zone Sept. 10, starting at approximately 8:45 p.m.

The treatment covers the area between McCoy Road and Zollinger Road, according to a city alert. Spraying will continue into the overnight hours, weather permitting.

CDC light trap data showing elevated levels of nuisance and floodwater mosquitoes in the Central zone prompted the spray, the city said. The operation does not target West Nile virus carriers.

Thursday's spray covers different ground than an earlier round. Franklin County Public Health sprayed Upper Arlington's north zone, north of McCoy Road, and south zone, south of Zollinger Road, on Aug. 24. That spray, which ABC 6 reported, began at 9 p.m. after test results came back positive for West Nile virus. The Central zone sits between the two areas sprayed that night.

The city alert did not include precaution guidance for residents in the spray area. Franklin County Public Health lists additional mosquito control information at myfcph.org.

Weather is the only stated factor that could delay Thursday's treatment.
